New traffic calming measures will be installed along Federation Parade in Gosnells, causing a road closure for about seven weeks from Monday 28 March.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes said the works would involve upgrading two existing speed humps, with a new plateau to be installed next to the Town Square.

“The aim of the plateau section is to allow, and encourage, visitors to Centennial Pioneer Park, along the Canning River,” the Mayor added.

“We understand that the road closure may affect Albany Highway businesses that back on to Federation Parade, as some patrons use this as an exit, however the works period has been kept to a minimum and the result will improve safety and access.”

Detours will be in place and patrons of the City’s Knowledge Centre library, along with business tenants at The Agonis and visitors to the Town Square will need to consider an alternative route and parking during the temporary closure. The temporary car park at Lot 800 Albany Highway will remain open while the road works are completed.

The City appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during the Federation Parade works.
