The City of Gosnells has a new Deputy Mayor, with Councillor Serena Williamson elected to the role at Tuesday’s Council meeting.

Cr Williamson steps into the role following the departure of former Deputy Mayor Adam Hort, whose resignation came into effect last month (June).

Mayor Terresa Lynes congratulated Cr Williamson on her election as Deputy Mayor.

“Since her initial election in October 2017, Cr Williamson has demonstrated her commitment and passion to serve and represent the local community,” Mayor Lynes said.

“I have full confidence in Cr Williamson as she takes the reins as Deputy Mayor.”

During her time on Council, Cr Williamson has taken on a number of roles including Public Art Committee Member, Council Delegate for the South East Regional Energy Group and President of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association WA.

“I’m honoured to take on the role of Deputy Mayor,” Cr Williamson said.

“I look forward to working alongside Mayor Lynes and my fellow Councillors to achieve great things for our City.”
