Grants up to $10,000 are available soon for not-for-profit community groups or individuals to make a difference in the City of Gosnells community.

Mayor Terresa Lynes said the Category 1 Level 2 Community Grants are offered twice a year by the City to support community projects that offer long-term benefits, such as purchasing or upgrading equipment, minor capital works, community events and programs, or training and professional development for employees and volunteers.

“These grants are an important way for the City to support the people and groups who make our community a better place to live, work or visit,” she said.

“The initiatives supported by the City’s Community Grants Program in turn provide social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits for our community.”

Applications for the Level 2 Community Grants will open at 8am on Sunday 1 September and close at 5pm on Monday 30 September – but anyone interested in applying for a grant is encouraged to first attend information sessions hosted by the City.

“Attending these information sessions is the best way to ensure your project stands out among the crowd, and give your project the best chance of success,” Mayor Lynes said.

An information session about the Level 2 Community Grants will be held at the City of Gosnells Civic Centre from 6pm – 7.30pm on Wednesday 21 August, sharing information about eligibility criteria, and application, assessment and acquittal processes.

A Grant Writing Excellence Workshop will be held from 5.45pm – 8pm on Wednesday 28 August at the Thornlie Park Centre, providing participants with tips to craft compelling grant applications.

Registrations are required for the City’s grant application workshops. To register, email community@gosnells.wa.gov.au. Registrations for the information session about Level 2 Community Grants close on Monday 19 August.
