Gosnells-raised Olympic Bronze Medallist Caitlin Parker was given a rockstar welcome at Thornlie Senior High School (TSHS) when she was recently greeted by City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes and elated staff and students.

A former Head Girl at TSHS, Caitlin was thrilled to be back at her old stomping ground, where she mingled with the Mayor, students and staff, and shared tales of her Olympic adventures in Paris.

“It was fantastic to see Caitlin back on home turf and hear all about her Olympic achievement in Paris,” Mayor Lynes, who is also the Community Chairperson on the School’s Board, said.

“As a local girl from Gosnells, Caitlin has done the City of Gosnells community proud!”

A three-time world boxing champion and Commonwealth Games medallist, Caitlin made history at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, as the first Australian female boxer to win an Olympic medal.

In earlier stages of her boxing career, Caitlin was a recipient of the City’s Competition Sponsorship funding program, which helped support her to travel and compete in world boxing championships.
